Embarking on this journey, I first equipped myself with invaluable insights from the comprehensive 6-week business workshop hosted by MSJC. Under the guidance of esteemed mentors including Joyce Johnson, Dr. Marily Harvey, Nesha Hill, Tonya Burke, Nikisha Bond, Christy Davis, Ava Mason, and K. Elle Jones, I honed my entrepreneurial skills and crafted a vision that would ultimately captivate the judges' attention.

One particular mentor, K. Elle Jones, a luminary with 35 years of experience in marketing and media, imparted crucial lessons on the significance of personal branding and storytelling. Emphasizing the mantra, "You are the niche," she underscored the unparalleled value of infusing one's personal narrative into the fabric of their business.

The presentation commenced with a captivating introduction, featuring my name, business name, and motto: Emily Cardiel of Emmyteddy Designs—Hand-drawn everything, where artistry meets community. This succinct yet impactful opening set the tone for the rest of the presentation, encapsulating the essence of my brand identity in just a few words.

Building upon this foundation, I delved into my personal narrative, tracing the evolution of my artistic journey from its inception in 2016 to its current manifestation as Emmyteddy Designs. By sharing my passion for digital art and my vision for fostering a spirit of collaboration and community, I sought to forge a deeper connection with the audience, anchoring them to the core values driving my business.

Transitioning seamlessly into the problem-solving aspect of the presentation, I outlined three key challenges addressed by my business: providing tailor-made activity books for local preschools, offering custom gifts such as pet portraits, and creating a platform for digital artists in the Inland Empire. Each problem was met with a corresponding solution, underscoring the tangible impact of my business on the community.

A pivotal moment in the presentation came with the inclusion of two side-by-side videos showcasing my artistic process—a compelling visual demonstration that captivated the audience and reinforced my creative vision. By providing a glimpse into the behind-the-scenes workings of Emmyteddy Designs, I was able to evoke a sense of authenticity and transparency, further bolstering my credibility as both an artist and a business owner.

As the presentation drew to a close, I highlighted key metrics such as sales traction, social media following, and customer demographics, offering tangible evidence of the viability and potential for growth inherent in my business model. A heartfelt expression of gratitude to the audience and a seamless transition into contact information served as the final touch, leaving a lasting impression on the judges.

From business name and logo to personal narrative and problem-solving solutions, each component was crucial in crafting a compelling and cohesive pitch that resonated with the judges.
