When I'm at my desk, I use a Huion Kamvas GT-191 with adjustable stand. It's bulky and has an adjustable stand. They discontinued my art tablet, but the Huion company still makes plenty of other models. My tablet looks the most like their "Pen Display: Kamvas 24 Series" for $800. When I want to be more portable, I switch to a Samsung Galaxy S6 Lite 10.4-inch Tablet 128GB Wi-Fi S Pen, Gray with a Pro Series Case.

I currently use Clip Studio Paint on both my computer and Samsung tablet.

I started my digital art journey with a Wacom Intuos S for $74.79 at Staples. I bought it to test the waters of digital art and I outgrew it within a year. In 2017, I sold my Wacom tablet and replaced it with a Huion Kamvas GT-191. At the time, it was around $600-$800 This is still my main tablet in 2024. It plugs into my computer and allows me to draw directly on the screen. In 2021, I purchased a Samsung Galaxy S6 Lite so that I could draw during car rides. I highly recommend doing research, watching tablet review videos, and trying to find a good deal. Your first tablet probably won't be your last. You just need something to start drawing with and to start getting used to an art program.

I recommend using Medibang Paint. It's a free art program that I used for years when I was first starting out. It offers enough to get started and it was a smooth transition to Clip Studio Paint because of their similar setup.
